Senior Researcher at the Soil and Water Resources Institute of ELGO-DIMITRA and head of the Waste Management and Bioprocesses Laboratory. His research activities focus on agro-industrial waste treatment, biological process engineering, environmental biotechnology, and the development of sustainable solutions for organic and liquid waste management. His published work includes 99 articles in peer-reviewed journals (citations: >5100, h-index: 41, Scopus), 2 book chapters and >150 articles in proceedings of national and international conferences. As of 2020 to date, he is included in Stanford University's list of the top 2% of the world's top scientists. Finally, he has extensive experience in project implementation, as a coordinator, manager or work package leader (Fuding sources: GSRI, HFRI, ERANET, LIFE, Horizon-Europe).
