TETRIS at BEYOND Expo 2026: Strengthening Collaboration for Technology Transfer and Innovation

The TETRIS Network (Technology Transfer and Research Innovation Synergy), in which the Technology Transfer Office of ELGO-DIMITRA participates, took an active part in BEYOND Expo 2026, one of the most important exhibitions for technology, innovation and digital transformation in Southeastern Europe, held from 17 to 19 June 2026 at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens.

The network’s participation in the exhibition provided a significant opportunity to showcase the activities and objectives of TETRIS, while further strengthening networking with representatives of the research community, entrepreneurship, industry and the broader innovation ecosystem.

The project partners were hosted at Hall 3 | Stand C42/D41, where they presented the TETRIS Network and the initiatives being developed within the framework of the project to strengthen Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) and enhance the effective exploitation of generated knowledge and research results.

The joint presence of the partners at the project stand demonstrated in practice the philosophy of TETRIS, which is based on collaboration, networking and the exchange of know-how among participating organisations, with the aim of creating a stronger and more effective technology transfer ecosystem in Greece.

TETRIS is a strategic partnership of nine organisations, coordinated by the PRAXI Network of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), with the participation of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF), the University of West Attica (UNIWA), the Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR), the Biomedical Sciences Research Center “Alexander Fleming”, the Hellenic Pasteur Institute, the Hellenic Agricultural Organization – DIMITRA (ELGO-DIMITRA), and the National Centre for Social Research (EKKE), the latter participating as an observer organisation.

Through this collaboration, an integrated Network of Technology Transfer Offices is being established, aiming to strengthen the mechanisms for the exploitation of knowledge and research results produced by the participating institutions, thereby contributing to stronger links between research, industry and entrepreneurship.

The project's participation in BEYOND Expo 2026 highlighted its central role in fostering collaboration between the research community, industry and the market, promoting the exploitation of generated knowledge and the transformation of research results into innovative products, services and business opportunities.

During the exhibition, visitors to the stand were informed about the activities implemented within the framework of the project, as well as the services provided by the collaborating Technology Transfer Offices to researchers, research teams and businesses. At the same time, the project partners held a series of meetings with representatives of companies, start-ups, investment schemes, research organisations and innovation stakeholders, exploring new opportunities for collaboration and the exploitation of research results in high-technology sectors.

Furthermore, within the framework of the exhibition, the General Director of Agricultural Research of the Hellenic Agricultural Organization – DIMITRA participated in the panel discussion entitled “Opportunities in Research”, organised by the Democritus University of Thrace and Mantis Beyond Innovation, National Representatives of EIT Food in Greece, as part of the event “EIT Food Priorities and the Greek Ecosystem: Challenges and Opportunities”. During the discussion, the crucial role of research in generating knowledge and innovation was highlighted, together with the need for the effective exploitation of research results for the benefit of society and the economy.
